Thank You, Volunteers!

The North Beach PTA would like to recognize some of our outstanding volunteers:

Debbie Bayliss -- for organizing and managing this year's Giving Tree Program which brightened the holidays for a handful of North Beach families;
Sue Newton -- for her outstanding job with this year's North Beach Wearables and for stuffing all the kindergarten tour folders over Winter break;
Kate Rappe -- for contributing her incredible design skills to create terrific new North Beach Wearables;
Anne Gaultier, Katie Sechler, and the Student Council -- for sorting, organizing, and delivering all the wonderful donated food items to the Ballard Food Bank. John and M.J. McDermott also helped with this effort;
Wendy Lindell -- for making the student banking program each Thursday available to and fun for our students;
Tristi Sirotzki -- for making our Scrip fund raising program a reality at North Beach. Great job Tristi!
Janet Anderson -- for editing and publishing this excellent weekly update publication and keeping our school community informed.

Volunteering In the Classroom:

Most of the teachers can use parents' help in the classroom in some capacity.

Room Parents

Coordinate parent volunteers within your child's classroom to help with parties and events.

Classroom Help

Help your child's teacher during class time.
Choose a day and time to come into the classroom every week.
Each teacher will have his/her own way to use parent help in the classroom and will let parents know when to sign-up.

Volunteering As a Chairperson:

North Beach Elementary PTA sponsors a wide variety of family programs and activities. For an event, program or activity to occur it needs a chairperson.

Chairperson Duties:

Act as the key contact for your activity.
Coordinate volunteers and lead that activity for the school year.
Help find a leader for the next year.

Each activity, program and event has a binder filled with information and guidance to help you with your endeavor. Also, the chairperson last year will help you through the process.

Volunteering For an Activity or Event:

You will receive a volunteer sign-up sheet in your PTA packets. Please check off any events or activities for which you would like to volunteer. As that event draws near the chairperson of the event will contact you with further information. A call for volunteers is issued as the the event nears. We always need volunteers for every event.
