Fundraising Campaign Deadline: $55,200 by October 31st, 2011

The Academic Giving Campaign (AGC) is the major fundraising effort for our school’s academic enhancements. Through the AGC, every student is able to experience Art, Music, the A.C.E. Tutoring program and other educational enhancements, such as environmental education, helping fund 5th grade camp and special training for teachers. To meet the expenses incurred for these programs, our goal is to raise $55,200 by October 31st, 2011.  Since 2002, North Beach families have generously given to this program. Without the support of our wonderful community these programs would not exist.

Here is a look at the programs the AGC will fund this year:

• Art Our Art Specialist helps children gain skills in visual expression and the principles of design through a variety of fun and educational art projects.
• Music Our Music Specialist provides a creative approach to music helping our students build performance skills and self-esteem.  In music classes, all students are exposed to a variety of musical principles.  Students’ growing musical skills are enjoyed by our community at our all-school winter and spring concerts.  Our 3rd through 5th graders are provided musical instruction on select instruments.
• Technology North Beach Elementary is focused on using Technology as a way to enhance learning. Last year, a Technology Committee was created to help determine the most effective ways that technology can be used in the classroom. Most recently, we have invested in SMART Board technology, purchasing four SMART Boards, affording teachers tools that allow for a fun and interactive classroom, while also providing students exposure to new technology.
• Tutoring North Beach is proud to provide the Academic Coaching for Excellence program to eligible students.  This tutoring program provides one on one academic coaching and small-group curriculum support.  All students benefit from the reduced class sizes during mentoring and coaching sessions.  Teachers surveyed called the program “highly-effective” and appreciate the benefits it provides to their classes.
• Environmental Education North Beach contributes to the 5th Grade Camp and other environmental projects throughout the year for K-4th grades.

North Beach Elementary is a great success on all levels – test scores, special programs, community support and parent involvement.  Through a direct giving campaign, there is no auction, no dinner or bake sale attached to the campaign.  This means there is no overhead.  Funds raised pay directly for the AGC programs and the Resident Specialists.

Without your support, we cannot have these important programs at our school.  Because all children benefit from these programs, it is our dream to have 100% participation of families at North Beach in this fundraising campaign. And remember, every gift is tax-deductible.

Friends & Family - Many grandparents or family members would like help out in their families education. What a great gift to contribute to Art, Music, Tutoring and Math! If you send us their information, we will mail them an AGC packet for them to read and consider a donation.
