The Annual Giving Campaign is a two-week, direct-giving pledge drive running from November 2 to November 18, 2016.
The Annual Giving Campaign is a critical PTA fundraising effort: it represents 30% of the total PTA budget for the year and directly funds stipends for our Art and Music teachers, our one-on-one Tutors, technology upgrades to our library and classrooms, and classroom mini-grants for needed supplies. These are programs that benefit our students every day, and cannot exist without community support.

Many corporations offer Matching Gift programs that will make your donation go even further! We're set up to receive matching gifts from these area corporations, so please submit your form if you work at the companies below, or check with your HR office to see if yours has a program, too!

Here is a look at the programs the Annual Giving Campaign will fund this year:
The classroom Mini-Grants provide a pool of funds that teachers can take advantage of for classroom or curriculum enhancements. Examples of past mini-grants funded include: enhancing leveled libraries in classrooms, providing
comfortable reading chairs for reading time, and math manipulatives to enhance hands-on math learning.
All North Beach students receive weekly music instruction for the whole year. Our Music Specialist provides a creative approach to music helping students build performance skills and self-esteem. In music classes, all students are exposed to a variety of musical principles. Students’ growing musical skills are enjoyed by our community at our all-school winter and spring concerts. Our 4th and 5th graders are provided musical instruction on select instruments.
In addition to funding an Artist in Residence, the Annual Giving Campaign funds additional art supplies and materials to further enhance our children's activities. All North Beach students participate in one hour of art per week for half of the year.
Tutoring funds support three onsite tutors and a Tutor Coordinator, who coordinates students from SPU to come volunteer in our classrooms. Our tutoring program provides one-on-one academic coaching and small group curriculum support. All students benefit from the reduced class sizes during mentoring and coaching sessions. Teachers surveyed called the program “highly effective” and appreciate the benefits it provides to their classes.

Raffles & Incentives
Fill out the yellow participation form and return it via KidMail no later than November 18th. The form must be signed by a parent to count.
The Golden Envelope:
To help meet the Annual Giving Campaign’s goal by November 18th, we are raffling prizes to encourage giving. Anyone who gives at the levels below per child at North Beach is entered to win:
1. $250 or more per child: Enter to win a 1-night stay at Great Wolf Lodge for up to 6 people!
2. $175-249 per child: Enter to win a $200 gift certificate for dinner at El Gaucho restaurant, or a $100 gift certificate to University Village.
Regardless of your donation level, everyone who participates is entered to win Herbie, a plush seal wearing a North Beach Superhero cape!
I lost my yellow form. Can I get another one?
If can't find your yellow participation form you can always download one, and return it via KidMail in any color envelope you've got (if it's not yellow, please address to Annual Giving Campaign). You can always donate online as well. If you need paper copies some extra copies will be available in the front office.
Can I give after the November 18th deadline?
Donations are appreciated and will be accepted at any time, donations received by November 18th will qualify for the raffle incentives.
Does my donation become part of the PTA general funds?
Donations to the Annual Giving Campaign are considered as restricted donations, and are earmarked specifically for the programs that we mention in the campaign. Any funds that aren't allocated in this academic year will be earmarked in a specific account to ensure the continuation of these programs in future years.
Will I receive a donation receipt?
Yes, all donations received will be acknowledged via KidMail by early December, including a receipt for tax purposes.
