PLEASE HELP US IN OUR EFFORT TO KEEP ART, MUSIC, TUTORING, AND SAXON MATH AT NORTH BEACH!!

Goal this year: $55,000
Donations to date: $41,629
Shortfall: $13,371
We are getting closer to our goal with each week and each call to action. WE SINCERELY THANK ALL OF YOU WHO DONATED! We were thrilled to learn that the Torrance Foundation would be supporting our programs with a $5,000 donation! And one of our wonderful North Beach students asked that her birthday present(s) be a gift towards the AGC. We were so touched by these acts of generosity. But we are still a long way from our goal of $55,000. We need $13,371 more to pay for our programs this year! Our hope is to have every North Beach family donate whatever they can, with this in mind: It costs approximately $175 per child to fund these programs, and we hope that you will meet that if your family is able. Thank you for your support!! Donations can be sent via kidmail or made online via Paypal at http://www.northbeachelementary.org/agc.htm
Also, please check the list of companies that participate in the matching gift program. The list is posted on the AGC page. http://www.northbeachelementary.org/agc.htm Thank you!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kate Rappe' at kate@cmykate.com or Tina Kliman at jedkliman@comcast.net.

Special PTSA Meeting - Tuesday, February 9, at 6 pm

Please mark your calendars for a special PTSA meeting to discuss the district's Family Survey and District Report Card. Bernardo Ruiz, SPS Manager for Family and Community Engagement, will present an outline of the two initiatives and would like to get input from families of children receiving special education services. The meeting is in the auditorium at the John Stanford Center, 2445 3rd Ave South, Seattle 98124. It will start at 6 pm and go until 7:30 pm. This is a great opportunity for our members to help shape how the district gathers information from families and measures school effectiveness. Bernardo Ruiz has provided us with some documents -- Overview Survey Redesign, Survey Design Stakeholder Feedback Tool, and the 2009 District Score Card -- for members to review. If you would like to receive them, please email us at seattlespedptsa@gmail.com.

Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education

The North Beach Student Council is requesting your participation in helping to support the Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education programs. Each Box Top or Campbell's label that is received counts toward real dollars for our school. The money raised through these two programs have helped us purchase playground equipment, classroom supplies, library books, etc. In short, by clipping UPCs and Box Tops from participating products, you are helping us earn cash for our school.
All clipped Box Tops and UPCs may be placed in their appropriate containers located on the table just outside the main office. If you would like to find out more about these programs, please feel free to visit the following websites.
www.labelsf oreducation.com and www.btfe.com
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
Sincerely,
North Beach Student Council
