Ethan Elms and Max Radovich represented North Beach at the Chess Mates Winter Fest Tournament. Congratulations to Max for his 3.0 score in the 2-4 section and to Ethan Elms for his 2nd Place finish in the K-1 section!
Ethan Elms, Ardaea Forrestor, Charlie Kloth, Katherine Kloth, Bek Salimov, Jasmina Salimov, and Geoffery Simmons represented North Beach at the Medina All-City Chess Tournament, where over 300 students competed. Seven strong, the team was the largest contingent that North Beach has sent to a competition. Congratulations to all our players for completing 5 rounds of chess and bring home some wins! Ethan Elms was the team high scorer, finishing in 2nd place in the Kindergarten section. Go Seals!
For a second year, Ethan Elms (PK), Austin Elms (1st grade) and Max Radovich (2nd grade) represented North Beach Elementary at the 2016 Washington State Elementary Chess Championships! Congratulations, Team NB!

About the Instructor:
Coach Lori Osseward, BA Art, BFA Art Education, Coach to the 2014 Kindergarten WA State Champion Team & the 2014 United States National Champion Team in the K-3 Division has been creating, teaching and coordinating chess programs for over 15 years. She is the founder of 3 award winning chess programs at West Woodland Elementary, McClure Middle School and Ballard High School and also has programs at schools such as The Evergreen School and Seattle Country Day.
