September 2008 will mark the fiftieth year that North Beach Elementary has served Seattle's children. Stay tune for details on a Fiftieth Anniversary Celebration - Fall 2008.

Ballard Norwegian Constitution Day Parade

Saturday May 17th

Participation in the Norwegian Constitution Day Parade in Ballard on May 17th has become a North Beach tradition! Come join your classmates and fellow parents in the annual parade this year in beautiful downtown Ballard!

This year, we'll be celebrating and showing off our phenomenally successful Virtues program! Wear your North Beach t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. if you have them!

When: Saturday, May 17th. The start of the parade runs 3:00 - 5:00 PM. There could be a wait, depending on where we are positioned in the parade, but it's always good (and fun!) to show up as early as 15-30 minutes before the parade starts. It's possible we'll be notified ahead of time where we'll be positioned on the parade, and we'll try to update here with that information as we get it.

Where: Near, usually just East of Adams Elementary. There will be a booth setup near Adams Elementary for parade participants- they should be able to direct you to the correct staging area. Otherwise, look for fellow North Beach people in the area east of Adams school, beween the school and 24th Ave NW. (Exact master time and parade position may change as more information becomes available.)

Parade Route: The parade starts at 24th Avenue NW and NW 62nd Street, proceeds south along 24th Avenue to Market Street, goes east to Bergen Place, then southeast along 22nd Avenue to Ballard Avenue.

Dispersal Area: Ballard Avenue and Vernon Place NW

IMPORTANT
Every person marching in the parade needs to fill out a Hold Harmless Agreement. You can download the Hold Harmless here, or pick up in the office at school. Just bring it to the parade with you and turn in to Joel Niemeyer.
