WAYS AND MEANS SURVEY RESULTS...
Of the 78 surveys received, the
top 3 fundraisers that parents would
be willing to support or participate
in were:
- Arts and Crafts Fair
- Walk-A-Jog-A-Move-A-Thon
- School Flea Market/Rummage
Sale
There was still a little
confusion among some who listed the
AGC as their favorite fundraiser.
Monies raised by fundraisers listed
above (about $20,000) are to support
activities paid for by the PTA
general fund. The AGC is a separate
fund drive. The monies raised by the
AGC campaign (about $50,000) are
earmarked to pay for the Academic
Specialists and Academic Programs
such as Saxon Math. BOTH the AGC and
other fundraisers listed above are
vital in providing the funds to
support a balanced and well- rounded
educational opportunity for all
students at North Beach.
Wish list projects for the
2007-2008 academic year are listed
below in the order of parents'
preference are:
- Teacher support (rated very
high and was the top for 1st,
2nd and 3rd)
- Preschool/Childcare on site
- Larger covered play area
(using the existing play court)
- Library improvements
- Technology improvements
- Security and lights (also
mentioned drop off and pick up
zone)
- Playground improvements
- Fun family events
- Lunchroom improvements
- Other ideas mentioned: a.
Making the school "green" by
recycling and composting; b.
Further support for academic
enhancements.
Thanks again to all of you who
participated in the survey! Your
voices were heard and counted! The
results will be presented at
tonight's PTA Board meeting and will
provide valuable guidance in
planning for next year!
