National PTA Updates 

The National PTA body has worked very hard on improving the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act, which in part describes the conditions and standards for incarcerating and housing youth.  Too often youth are being inappropriately incarcerated for status offenses like truancy, when family support services would be more appropriate.  National PTA is asking for support from across the states, to help put get reauthorization of this act with their recommendations for improvements, on the national congressional agenda.  The action alert itself describes the National PTA concerns and recommendations very well.  For more information on this follow this link.
