Sock Hop

Come to the SOCK HOP this year to break out of those winter blues!
WHEN: Friday, February 3rd from 6:30-8:30pm
WHERE: North Beach School
WHAT: Dress Up in your 50's duds, then try your luck at the CAKE WALK. DANCE to some 50's tunes with your friends.
Or just sit back and enjoy DINNER, DESSERT the CANDY counter with your family.
North Beach loves the Sock Hop! We transform the gym back to the 1950's where parents and kids twist to songs from the fifties. Get your poodle skirts ready, your bobby socks on your dancin' feet and have some fun.
Friendly Reminder: ALL children must be accompanied by an adult
Get ready for:

 Our Sock Hop features the Cake Walk
Put on your thinking caps and get those creative juices flowing. The annual Cake Decorating Contest is coming up on Friday, February 3rd.
Past entries include a three dimensional dragon, pizza, sushi, LEGO brick, North Beach Seal, Candy Land board game...
Students, donate your inspired masterpiece and receive a ticket for a free turn in the Cake Walk that night at the Sock Hop. Prizes and ribbons will also be awarded to winning cakes after midday judging done by North Beach Staff and Student Council members.
There are three judging categories for the two age groups of Kindergarten - 2nd grade and 3rd - 5th grade:
- 3 prizes awarded to the top three STUDENT made cakes (no funny business, we are only including cakes in this category that are clearly student made)
- 1 prize awarded to the top STUDENT TEAM made cake
- Ribbons awarded to the top three PARENT/STUDENT made cakes
Winners will be announced at the end of the school day on Friday.
All cakes will be given away as prizes during the Cake Walk activity at the Sock Hop event.
Please drop-off cake entries by 10:00 am Fri. Feb. 3rd in the lunchroom. Please see one of the parent helpers to receive your free ticket.
