How Can You Help?
North Beach is fortunate to have a wonderful parent community that is united behind the goal of creating lifetime learners. Our parent volunteers are a HUGE part of what makes North Beach such a great place for our children.
Volunteering at school is a great way to stay involved in your childs school day; whether your're sharpening pencils at home or reading in the classroom, kids love to see their parents involved in their school world. Helping out also provides a great opportunity for you to provide invaluable assistance to teachers and staff, get to know other families at school, make great friends and help us contintue to grow as a school community. So, how can you Volunteer at North Beach? In the Classroom Every classroom has a room parent(s) who helps with parties, events, book orders, volunteer schedules and field trips. Contact our Room Parent Coordinator Stacey Hackney at staceyhackney@yahoo.com for more information. Let your child's teacher know what your schedule allows; maximising your time to everyone's benefit. Volunteering for a Committee The school hosts over 50 events throughout the course of the year. It would be impossible to do so without dedicated volunteers as well as committed Chairpersons and Co-Chairs. We like Co-chairs because they help pass on valuable information and knowledge from year to year. The duties of chairs and co-chairs include: 1. being the key contact for your activity 2. coordinating volunteers and leading that activity for the school year 3. helping find a leader for the next year. Each program has a binder with comprehensive guidance notes to help you out. Volunteering for an activity or event Complete the Volunteer form by checking off any events you would like to be involved in. Can't commit? No worries, join our "Pinch Pool" which allows us to call you "in a pinch" to help with projects as needed. Volunteering from home or on the Weekends Many of our events take place during the weekend/evening, providing opportunities to get involved outside the classroom. We all have something to contribute and your involvement and participation as a volunteer is welcome and appreciated regardless of the time and day it takes place.
