Walk-A-Jog-A-Move-A-thon
May 31, 2013
It’s getting to be that time of year again! It is the 7th annual North Beach Walk-a-Jog-a-Move-a-Thon…our fun-filled free for all that celebrates aerobic activity along with the jobs of raising money for the PTA.
This event is one of two major PTA fundraisers at North Beach each year that help fund all the special “extras” we are able to offer our children here at North Beach. The WJM is the primary financial support for the PTA’s General Fund, which in turn sponsors events like Math Night and the Science Fair.
We have a track record of very generous giving from the parents and community at North Beach –starting with YOU – students, parents, teachers, staff, business sponsors and the community. This school wide event invites students to seek out friends, family members and neighbors to sponsor them in a walk-a-thon fundraiser. This is an incredibly important fundraising event for our school as it's the one that raises the most money for the PTA General Fund.
A circular path is outlined in the playground and students run, walk, ride or jog around the path as many times as they can. The younger grades start first before 1st recess, followed by the upper grades in the afternoon.
This event requires huge parental involvement and Sue welcomes any parents to volunteer during the event. If you have any questions or are available to volutneer at the event, please email Sue, or call at 206-409-9277.
2013Goal
Our fiscal goal for this year is to generate $16,000 from this event to support the PTA General Fund for 2013-14. We expect this to be very attainable, as the school is slightly larger than last year and we raised the same amount.
