Family and friends can sponsor your child by making an online donation.
Dear North Beach Students, Parents, Guardians and Neighbors:
In June, the PTA will host North Beach’s annual WJM. As with last year, our goal is to raise $14,000. This money goes to the PTA general fund to pay for programs, such as, technology, art, music, science fair, math night and tutoring. Our WJM fundraising is essential to the continuation of these programs.
What is it?
Every child in the school participates in this fun event. Kids walk, jog, or move around the track set up at the north end of the school. They see how many laps they can complete in the allotted time. Some kids go for the most laps in their grade while others do the minimum to earn a free popsicle. Both are all right by us.
How do we raise money?
Students sign up sponsors to donate money for each lap that he or she completes or to pledge a single amount. Examples: $2 per lap or a $25 “set” pledge. Sponsors actually give the money (often based on the student’s goal) before the event happens. The money is all collected and counted on the WJM day.
Here is the average number of laps from last year by grade (5 laps=1 mile):
Sometime in June, we host an assembly to give out lots of cool prizes! These include:
We will need volunteers to count laps, run concessions, and more!* Please try to come when your child will be moving: K-2nd Grades: 10am-11:30am and 3rd-5th Grades: 1:00pm-2:30pm.
*Link for volunteer signup will be posted closer to the date.
