In yoga club, students will explore yoga and mindfulness with breathing exercises, yoga poses, art activities and games. We'll learn to listen to our bodies, work with others, stretch out and calm down. Each class, we’ll focus on a theme like peace, nature, animals or friendship and use these ideas to inspire our session. By the end of the series, students will have learned about deep breathing and how to use these exercises at home or at school to calm down. They’ll have a knowledge of yoga poses, how they stretch different muscles, and how to move safely in their bodies. Through yoga games they’ll explore what it means to be a leader and teammate. Finally, by connecting these themes with art projects students learn how creativity invites self-expression and reflection. Above all, we have a ton of fun, make new friends, and learn something new each day.
