At North Beach we nurture and empower all students to reach their full potential as learners and citizens.
Jaclyn Finn - Developmental Preschool Teacher
Jaclyn graduated from WSU and majored in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Special Education. She completed her student teaching at Gatewood Elementary in a Kindergarten class last Spring. She grew up on Three Tree Point in Burien, which instilled her love for boating, kayaking, fishing and crabbing. She enjoys spending time with her brothers and friends and working with kids (babysitting, Montessori school teaching and other various teaching experiences through WSU). She looks forward to beginning her teaching career at North Beach and any tips for her first year of teaching would be much appreciated! Go Seals!
Martha Ferguson - 2nd Grade
Martha is proud to say that she was born and raised in Seattle. She graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 2013 with an Elementary Teaching certificate and a Masters in Literacy. She had previously received a Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Washington in 2002. A few years later, she moved to Kansas City and stumbled into a job at a private learning center, where she realized how much she enjoyed teaching. After moving back to Seattle and working in commercial property management for a few years, she decided to go back to school so she could pursue a career doing what she loves, teaching. This last year, she had the great opportunity to substitute teach in the Seattle School District. She was able to experience teaching all K-5 grade levels and met many wonderful people from students to SPS staff and parents. She can definitely say that Seattle is a great district with warm and caring teachers, administrators, and parents who all work hard to enrich students' learning experience.
In her spare time, she loves to read, rock climb, cook, travel, and ski. She is always thrilled to be spending time outdoors with friends and family.
