Got Wine? - Donations Needed: donate Tues 3/23
Who doesn't enjoy a glass of wine now and then? And if you don't, how many times have you had to pick up a bottle as a gift? How would you like your own Instant Wine Cellar? Drink it yourself or give it away, your choice - but it's all for a good cause. We'll be doing an instant wine cellar raffle at the spring fling - buy a ticket for a chance at a 50 bottle wine cellar...but we won't have the cellar without your donations. Sooo, please donate a bottle of unopened wine - it can be Two-buck Chuck or that gifted Riesling that you know you'll never drink - to the North Beach Spring Fling Instant Wine Cellar raffle. We'll be picking up bottles at the west entrance of North Beach on Tuesday, 3/23 byDebbie Bayliss. Please participate, even if you don't intend to go to the spring fling, your bottle will help to raise money for the PTA general fund, we're counting on you! If you'd like to donate but can't drop by the school, please contact bobbijmiller@gmail.com and we'll make arrangements to pick up your donation. We have one bottle donated already - only 49 more to go...or donate more and we'll pick more than one winner!

Health Issues
Flu Season Continues
Though the flu season this year has been relatively mild, we still may have another round of infections. The predictions are that there will be a third wave of H1N1 flu infections in late winter and early spring.
IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO GET FLU IMMUNIZATIONS
Both the H1N1 and seasonal flu immunizations are available at many locations such as doctors' offices, pharmacies, and hospitals. Please consider getting immunizations for the whole family. It is possible that the next wave of infections will also hit older people as well as children. It is especially important to receive an immunization if you have a chronic health condition.
If you have any questions about the flu, or immunizations, you can get good information from Public Health- Seattle and King County at 206-296- 4600 or on the website: http://www.kingcounty.gov/healthservices/health. aspx This website also lists locations for free immunizations. Please consider protecting your family from both flus.
For information on health issues at school , please see our Staying Healthy at School page
Friendly reminder - Keep your child home if: They are vomiting or have diarrhea. They have a rash, or an eye infection. They have a sore throat, or don't feel well enough to participate in school activities. They have a temperature 100 degrees F or over. Students need to be free of fever for a whole school day without fever reducing medications before they come back to school. Please do not send your child back by giving them a fever reducing medicine when they have a fever. We see a fair amount of this. Coming back too soon spreads illness, but more importantly it puts your child at increased risk of complications from their own illness.
Safety Patrol
From Ms Bowers: North Beach staff appreciates your cooperation in following our simple rules about drop off and pick up. Staff are keeping track of offender's license plate numbers and talking with our traffic officers to help us slow down the traffic and follow legal traffic guidelines.
