PTA Mission Statement
It is the mission of the North Beach Elementary PTA to foster community inclusion, child advocacy and academic excellence by facilitating communications, supporting teachers and staff, and enhancing the educational, social and physical environment of North Beach Elementary School
Welcome to North Beach from the PTA!
Hello Kindergarten families! The PTA is an organization composed of North Beach parents, teachers and staff. Our mission statement is “to foster community inclusion, child advocacy and academic excellence by facilitating communications, supporting teachers and staff, and enhancing the educational, social and physical environment of North Beach Elementary School."
We are excited to have you here! We hope you've had the opportunity to meet plenty of new families at our summer play dates and have signed up for our "Parent Buddies" program to connect you with North Beach parent "veterans" for assistance with the important questions - to bring or buy lunch, the first day, after school programs, etc.
We need your support! It is no secret that state funding of our schools has been negatively impacted by the economy. The recent increase in tuition for kindergartners is but one example of this reality. Despite the funding cuts, with a little help from all of us, a public education at North Beach is still a fantastic deal. North Beach parents continue to fund essential programs, such as art and music and strive to provide the necessary tools to ensure that our school lives up to its model of excellence motto. That requires money and volunteer time, so we ask for both.
How to get involved:
How to Stay Informed.
Send me an email with "kindergarten" and your name in the subject line so that we can keep you updated as the school year approaches. We will use this email to keep you updated on community (North Beach) happenings that we believe will be of interest to you.
Every morning our principal reminds the kids, “North Beach Seals Model Excellence- Hooaah!”. If we work together and share the load, we can get all of our kids prepared for the road.
Sincerely,
Sue Schoolcraft

How to get involved:
- Volunteer. Volunteering is a fantastic way to gain access into your son/daughter’s new world. The PTA is recruiting for committee members for the 2012-2013 school year, as well as for smaller, well-defined, and short-term volunteer opportunities. Do you have experience fund raising, coordinating, or planning? Do you have a special interest or skill? Do you have neither but want to help? Join us! There also will be volunteer opportunities in the classroom, library and around the school. Find more information on our Volunteer page.
- Participate in Community events. Our PTA hosts a ton of fun events for our families. As we get closer to the beginning of the school year, our website will be the best place to find information on what is coming up next. To whet your appetite, we will likely have Bingo, a Fall carnival, a back to school wine and cheese event (parents only), the ever popular Sock Hop and a Spring Fling (parents only).
- Donate. The Academic Giving Campaign (AGC) has been the primary fundraiser for our school. This is a simple ask for money. Our parents over the years have considered it a hassle-free way to raise money as it does not require selling carwashes tickets or coupon books. Every donated dime directly funds our school programs. The AGC funds essential academic enhancements such as tutors and professional development for North Beach teachers and staff and programs that the Seattle School District no longer funds, such as art and music. This year we added a small auction with success, which we hope to build on. It was a fun social night for parents, as well as raising money to help our children.
