Room Parent Coordinator : Tara Nessan firstname.lastname@example.org
The Room Parent is a liaison between the teacher and the parents. This means different things to each teacher and depends on how much time you have available, so just ask your teacher how they'd like you to help and let them know what you have time to offer.
The principal duties of the room parent are to coordinate the class Halloween party and Valentine's Day party and coordinate some type of year end thank you and/or gift for the teacher. Another item to discuss with your teacher are the Scholastic Book orders. They may want you to help with the orders (or help find someone who will). You'll also be asked, from time to time, to forward pre-formatted announcements and emails to your classes from the PTA. The yearbook committee will contact you (sometime around Feb or March) looking for pictures of your class to use in the yearbook. Many classes have more than 1 room parent (yeah!) so you'll be able to decide among yourselves who would like to do what tasks.
Room Parents are listed in their classroom on Konstella.
